Seoul, Korea - Day 2

It's Day 2 in Suwon, Korea and we are set to go to the Korean Folk Village (KFV). Kwan has given us the directions on how to get there by taking a bus to Suwon Station then get on the free shuttle to KFV. But, we decided to take the taxi instead which cost us only 2,800KRW which is still cheaper or almost the same as taking bus but of cos with the comfort and no rushing. We purchased the entrance tickets to KFV and waited for the shuttle bus. We bought some snacks at Suwon Station before getting on the shuttle bus. The journey was short less than 20 minutes to KFV. KFV exhibits traditional Korean houses and handicraft. Managed to catch the equestrian show. On our way out, we manage to get autographs from the artists from Drama TV Novel: Dear my sister. It was an autograph session and promotion of the drama series. Was so happy!

We took the shuttle bus back to Suwon station and took taxi back to the guesthouse where we waited for Caryn's friend Min to pick us up. Min finally came and we hop on her MPV and off we go to her home but before that we stopped for dinner - ginseng chicken soup. It was very good. When about to leave we got to know that the restaurant owner previously lived in ampang kl. We stayed one nite at Min's place. Min's little boy is so cute.

Lower back pain

Having Lower back pain for the longest time

I have been diagnosed to have Spondylolisthesis L4-L5 since 2005 when I was seconded to Jakarta.  I cant recall what is the cause of it since have always been 'lasak'.  Doctor asked if I had fallen before to have cause this... cant recall.  Perhaps I did but as you know it would have been just rubbed the sore place and moved on or have a massage to ease the pain and forgot about it altogether.

My x-ray and MRI has findings that I do have a posterior displacement of L5 vertebral body over L4, with Grade 1-2 spondylolisthesis.  Though the lumbar vertebral body heights are relatively preserved, there is reduction in L4-L5 intervertebral disc space with degenerative changes of spine.

So back then in Jakarta I have gone to see the Halimun Medical Centre in Jl Halimun No 9, Guntur Setiabudi Jakarta 12980 and had my x-rays done.  Was surprised that the place is very high tech for that period of time and has given my x-rays in a CD (I forgot where I placed them).  I have left Jakarta a long while and not been there since so I have no idea if the centre is still there or have moved.  Seen the Global Chiropractic there with a doctor called Dr David Husband.  Had a few chiro sessions with him and after pain was relieved, stopped going.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Came back to Kuala Lumpur in 2007 and didnt pursue on the lower back pain other than just going to the normal massages at the all female club Philip Wain and Reborn.

Philip Wain Club membership card
I have been with Philip Wain since 2002 and enjoyed their body scrub now called Oligo.  Besides that some of their masseuse are quite good. There is no expiry of the treatment purchased.

Reborn membership card

Reborn goes back a long way too.  They started with a 2 shop lots in Endah Parade and now they have many branches even one in Bali. Their foot reflex masseuses are very consistent but of cos I do have a favorite one.  The female masseuse for body massage is also good and helps to ease my back pain once awhile.  I have taken a group of my family members here and they enjoyed themselves being pampered.  Reborn in Taman Segar has VVIP rooms which you can have 4 pax of your friends or family members in to do foot reflex.  I do recommend those who has done tried it cos once you do, you will get addicted to it, like me : ).

Farisa Spa
I tried Farisa Spa near Bandar Tasek Permaisuri, Cheras for the Bekam treatment.  It helps to clear the toxic from your body but you cannot do this as frequently as its recommended only like 6 months once.  It draws dirty blood from your 22 points of your body.  Your body feels lighter once you've done it.

Excerpt from Wikipedia:
Hijama (Arabic: حجامة‎ lit. "sucking") is the Arabic name in traditional medicine for wet cupping, where blood is drawn by vacuum from a small skin incision for therapeutic purposes.[1] It is reported that the Islamic prophet Muhammad said, "Indeed the best of remedies you have is hijama, and if there was something excellent to be used as a remedy then it is hijama."[2]

Pusratu - Pusat rawatan tanpa Ubat
Pusratu was recommended by a friend whose sister had treatment there before and had resolved her back problem.  I started going here from May 2013.  This place is located in Shah Alam and a bit shoddy if you go on a weekend since the offices around there are closed.  My first session was attended by the female ustazah and she assessed my problem and informed me how many sessions I need to go thru and how much it cost.  The package for me came up to RM1800 for 4 sessions (1 hour each time).  It was the most expensive treatment that I've been thru for my back pain.  I am willing to try it out despite it.  Anyway, conclusion is that it didnt work for me and I still have my pain.  I think after that it got worse since after Raya 2013, the pain seem to be more frequent and I have tingling in my right leg almost all the time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just last week, a collegue recommended a chinese sinseh in SEA park PJ.

Mr Chong has magic hands.  When he first touch my back and 'urut' my right leg numbness went off immediately. I was very impressed. I had to go for a few session like 20 and each session cost me RM50.

Uncle Steven was recommended to me by an Ustazah friend. An old man big size which hands can massage and pull you back together. I went to him twice but didn't quite work for me.  The day trip journey going down to see him would have put more pressure on my back, since had to travel from KL -JB-KL.  Treatment payment in 2014 was RM80 per session of 30-40mins. He also gives you herbal leaves to try eat there.
